Inexpensive, large portions. Simply furnished locally. Tables and chairs could be replaced. Reservation recommended. TOP VIEW, especially when the weather is right and the view of the Alps comes. Nothing stands in the way of a return. UPDATE: Ordered and delivered online during the second Corona wave. Everything was wonderfully hot. Unfortunately the fries were wrong, supposed to be sweet potato fries, but ok. Food is great again and is plentiful. UPDATE: Ordered online again, with a new app. TOP structured, clear. Large selection. Price performance is right. Delivery well packaged. Sufficient portion sizes. UPDATE January 2020: There is nothing to add to our previous reviews, except carry on ... We look forward to the summer with you in the restaurant.

So, unfortunately I haven't been to the restaurant yet, I really want to go to Corona. But the place is just brutal. Very, very nice view from the Hegau.

I would give 0 stars if I could! The food came after 1 1/4 hours (30 minutes were promised). The food was inedible! After a telephone complaint (and it was sobering as there were only excuses) I have to say, once and never again ... you can no longer enjoy the food in this condition and sorry then rather nothing instead of having it delivered

Unfortunately, the food was delivered 45 minutes later than announced! In addition, the food was cold, when we called back it was said that the food could not be delivered warm "!

Really beautiful location with a view of Engen and Hegau. The food is good. Menu something for everyone. The portions are big. The small portions are also sufficient for normal hunger. The only thing that bothers a little is the ambience. It doesn't look particularly cozy and inviting ...

Friendly service. Food came super fresh, really quickly on the table. Despite the large portions, it is still a hit in terms of taste. We were not denied any wishes. We were absolutely thrilled by food and also really satisfied hungry boys. We are absolutely satisfied and are happy to recommend "Hegau Stern". Very good selection of different schnitzel. The kitchen knows its business. Friendly and competent service. I found that we got the food very quickly. But it is a matter of opinion. Sensational view of Lake Constance and, in good weather, as far as the Alps.

You have to bring a lot of time, had to wait a relatively long time to be served. Due to the high number of visitors our order was forgotten and when the waitress asked if everything was okay and we looked puzzled in response and said that we had ordered but not received anything, the food came after about 1/2 hour . This is very plentiful and really good. I think I'll give this restaurant a second chance, as the waitress apologized for the mishap and was visibly embarrassed.

The service was an absolute disaster! We had to wait about 20 minutes until we could even order drinks. It was not asked whether everything was okay or whether you would like to have a drink (maybe you should also hire staff in the service who speak German) A big compliment goes to the kitchen, the food was great enough portions and just great!

Super hard-working staff which is also very friendly. The food tastes good and the prices are perfectly reasonable and affordable. There is 1 star deduction for the ambience, which is very out of date for my taste. But the restaurant shines with the wonderful view of the landscape.

Schnitzelfarm / Hegaustern ... Idyllic place with a great view of the lake. Service was friendly and attentive. The food came quickly. The schnitzels are really huge ... a little braver when seasoning, then it would be perfect. Still tasty. At first you think the prices for a normal schnitzel are high, but you could easily eat 2 of them. So if you are hungry, the small portion is enough. There are schnitzel in every variant. There is something for everyone. Those who don't like schnitzel will get their money's worth, there are enough alternatives.

Delicious schnitzel. Big portion. Asparagus was nothing special. The operators don't seem to be experts. But make an effort. The view of the Alps and Lake Constance is always worth it if you don't expect fine cuisine.

I can not understand the partially negative reviews of some prescribers. We almost didn't visit the house because of that, how good that we decided to visit. It was a nice evening with a great view of the valley. In addition, good schnitzel in numerous variations. The price of schnitzel for 14 to 18 euros is certainly a little more expensive, but if you order a "normal" schnitzel and have two schnitzel on your plate, the price is justified. That would still be our tip! The portions are big! "Small" = 1 schnitzel means normal and "normal" on the card = 2 schnitzel, ie a large portion. We were satisfied with the food, drink and service! Thanks a lot!

Super schnitzels, friendly staff and a great view. Note that this is under new management and doesn't supply the "a la carte" menu of the previous proprietors, but this is fine for me.

We went to Hegaustern for coffee and cake. There was a small selection of delicious cakes, as well as a separate ice cream menu. The cake was tasty and the kitchen piece was a good size. The nut ice cream with nut pieces in it was also very tasty. The food, whatever else you've seen, looked great! The view from the terrace is nice. There is now also a beer garden. Wait staff attentive, but rather little motivated. Payment also possible with Visa and Amex. Parking spaces in front of the door.

I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Had food for a group and came in a timely manner and all at once so that all could start at the same time. When reading the prices, I was a bit shocked but when the food was on the table, everything cleared up. The portion in the "normal" size would have been enough for me 3 times. Everything cooked perfectly and very tasty side dishes. Absolutely satisfied! (Refers to the time since the new owner status March 30, 2019)

Perfect place to rest eat and have a nice view. Also the staff is very very friendly.

Together with my family I visited "Hegaustern" on Mother's Day for Lunch. The meal was very good, but we had to wait more than an hour for it. The staff was friendly. When we arrived, our chairs were full of breadcrumbs, also the floor under the chairs. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay.

Very bad service. Waited 30 minutes on terrace then gave up and went. Even went to the bar and offered to take 2 beers myself to the terrace but they refused.
